Shipping Policy

At Backyard Brass & Winds, we take great care in handling and shipping your musical instruments. Please review our shipping policy carefully before sending your instrument to us for repair or purchasing items to be shipped.

 

1. Shipping Instruments to Us

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for shipping when sending instruments to Backyard Brass & Winds for repair or evaluation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We strongly recommend the following:

  • Use a reputable carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) with tracking.

  • Purchase full insurance coverage for the instrument’s declared value.

  • Pack instruments securely using proper cases, padding, and double-boxing when possible.

Backyard Brass & Winds is not responsible for damage that occurs during inbound shipping due to improper packaging or carrier mishandling.

 

2. Return Shipping After Repairs

Once repairs are complete, instruments will be shipped back using the method selected by the customer or the most appropriate carrier based on size and destination.

Return shipping costs will be added to the final invoice unless prepaid or arranged separately. Tracking information will be provided upon shipment.

Insurance is available and highly recommended. If insurance is declined by the customer, Backyard Brass & Winds is not liable for loss or damage in transit.

 

3. Processing & Handling Time

Shipping occurs only after:

  • Repairs are complete

  • Final approval has been given (if required)

  • Full payment has been received

Typical handling time before shipment is 1–3 business days after payment clearance, not including carrier transit time.

 

4. Local Pickup Option

Local pickup may be available by appointment for customers within the county or surrounding areas. This option eliminates shipping risk and cost.

 

5. Lost or Damaged Shipments

If a package is lost or arrives damaged, please notify us immediately. We will assist in filing claims with the carrier, but responsibility ultimately lies with the shipping provider and the level of insurance selected.

 

6. Shipping Restrictions

We currently ship within the United States. International shipping may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may involve additional fees, paperwork, and extended delivery times.

 

7. Incorrect Address & Delivery Issues
